What is the Goal of HRP? Who Can Participate? What is HRP?
Mission Statement
Harpswell Radio Project, Inc. is an organization formed by several Harpswell residents to establish a public access, educational, non-commercial broadcast low-power FM facility for the Harpswell, Maine Community.
The goal is to provide an outlet for individuals or organization to air content that they have produced. This content may be as diverse as the community itself and the intent is to encourage production and airing of uniquely local content.
All are welcome to become involved with local radio. You, as an individual, or your group can be on the air or you can help out in other “behind the scenes” ways such as production, office organization, or fundraising. You might be a student; you might be an expert in a field or have a passion for a particular subject and wish to share that; you might be an aficionado of a particular type of music or performance.
This is an opportunity to put it out there. All are welcome.
Tell us what you would like to do. Right now our need is to get programming on the air, raise funds to keep us on the air, improve the quality of our signal, and find a location for a broadcast studio. Beyond that, we then need to build out and operate a radio station. This will require many hands doing all sorts of diverse things. Your individual talents and visions can fit into this mosaic and make it unique.
